5 Ways to Practice Self-Care on a Daily Basis

This past year taught us just how important taking care of ourselves really is, both physically and emotionally. While long spa days and much-needed vacations are great, these aren’t necessarily the most sustainable forms of self-care. Luckily, there are plenty of simple yet meaningful ways to show yourself a little love in your everyday life. After all, it’s the small things that add up to make a big difference in the long run!

Are you ready to take your self-love rituals up a notch? Here are five ways to practice self-care on a daily basis.

Take Your Mornings Slow

There’s no need to get up and rush straight to work first thing in the morning. Doing so can leave you feeling anxious throughout the day. Instead, set your alarm a few minutes earlier (you can do it, we promise) and take your mornings slow. Sit and enjoy a cup of coffee without reaching for your phone and checking emails. To start your day on a positive note, make a cup of whipped coffee using the Whipped Drinks Whip Kit. The lightly sweetened dose of flavor and caffeine is the ultimate morning treat, and you deserve it!

Go for a Daily Walk

Whether it’s five minutes or five miles, going for a walk is an easy yet effective way to practice self-care on a daily basis. Instead of staying inside for your lunch break, throw on some good music or an audio book and head out the door for an afternoon stroll. It calms your mind and gets you moving so you’re not stuffed up at your desk the whole day.

Do Something Creative

Get your creative juices flowing! Embracing your creativity is a surefire way to get connected with yourself and relieve stress or anxiety. It gets you out of your own head and translates your feelings into something beautiful. No, you don’t have to be an artist to get creative. This can be as easy as cooking a new dinner recipe, dancing it out to your favorite song, or taking a few minutes during your work day to jot down some doodles.

Call a Loved One

Nothing feeds the soul more than connecting with the people you care about most, but we can often let these connections slide underneath the obligations of our busy lives. Make calling your family and friends a priority. Set aside a few minutes a day to call or text someone you’re thinking about. Maybe you’ll laugh, cry, or have a simple conversation about your day. Either way, connecting with loved ones is a great way to practice daily self-care. Plus, it will make their day too!

Netflix & Chill

Reminder: it’s okay not to be productive all of the time. Sometimes you just need to take a break, put on your guilty-pleasure TV show, and soak in the pleasure of doing absolutely nothing else. Do whatever you need to do to recharge and refresh your body and mind.
